new jeep engine

we have been sharing a car for 3-4 months because the jeep had overheating problems. after fixing everything cooling related like radiator, water pump, fan/fan clutch, etc, we had to make a decision on getting a new car, a new engine, or trying to patch the engine up with a head gasket. i decided to go with new engine because i have not had a reliable car in almost a a year now. anyway, we got a new engine put into it and it runs great! the a/c has had intermittent problems for awhile and the mechanic found a short in the connector that goes to the compressor, and the field coil has an intermittent open. he has ordered a field coil and a connector so i have to take the jeep back tomorrow to have it fixed monday. other than that, it runs great!

I added pages for photos and videos today. I have not had time to get embedded video player installed and configured, so for now, the videos have to be downloaded and played in your media player. You can just click on the links and save them to your computer.

new webserver

I had a power problem last week that killed my old server. The server was made up of parts that were between 5 and 9 years old so it was bound to happen.

I ordered parts for a new server, built it with fedora 12, and recovered the important stuff. I have decided to start over on the website rather than restore the old database. There was a lot of history in the old one, but a lot of junk too. I will probably create the toilet database (in case you were worried about it), but I had not done anything with it in awhile and the mysql export is huge. I am sure that it is full of spam and will require a lot of work to clean it up.

I will be changing the look and feel of the website for a few days until I come up with something that I like.

The new server has fedora 12, the website portal is wordpress, it has a mysql database, and is written mostly in php.
